Varsity MTB Challenge is a race for everyone from novice riders to hardy MTB enthusiasts. It is the best place to connect with old and new friends in more than one way. Ride together as a team on the most scenic and challenge routes in the Western Cape and catch-up over a glass of ice-cold beer or wine in the race village at La Paris estate.
Varsity MTB Challenge has a youthful appeal offering riders quirky water points, a vibrant race village with world-class amenities such as hot showers, complimentary massages, food stalls, live music, bar and yes, that very important face cloth at the finish line.
Riders and spectators can expect the following facilities along the route:
• Refreshment stations serving complimentary drinks, food and sweets treats and more • Route marshals and direction signage • Photographers and race coverage on route
Rider facilities at the Race Village at La Paris estate include:
• Bike Park and storage • Bike Wash • Shower facilities with complimentary towels and shower gel • Beer garden • Wine tasting • Food stalls • FNB Massage and Recovery Zone. Treat yourself to a relaxing massage and well-deserved recovery at the FNB Recovery Zone. This facility will be free to all riders and no pre-booking is necessary.
La Paris also offers spectators an entertaining environment where they can relax and follow the race. The catering areas are fully under cover so riders and spectators can relax and enjoy a pleasant afternoon, regardless of the weather.
Car transfer Service The Lions Club of Wellington will provide a car transfer service to all riders on the first day of Varsity MTB Challenge. Simply register to have you car transferred from Nederburg to La Paris and the Lions Club will make sure your car arrives safely at La Paris.
